Google has just announced that it has successfully acquired a company that runs the Internet security field named VirusTotal. VirusTotal itself is a company that provides free internet security services which analyzes file, URL, viruses, malware and other very quickly.

To use the service from VirusTotal, you only have to pick one file from the computer and then the system will run automatically. The maximum file size that can handled by VirusTotal is 32MB.

Representatives from VirusTotal says that the merger is good news for consumers and bad news for malware generator. By using the technologies of both companies, security services will be run better.

In addition, VirusTotal also explained that post-merger, they will still operate independently. And they will still maintain a partnership with several security experts and antivirus companies currently have them intertwine.

Google still has not explained the main purpose of this merger process. Most likely, they do this to further enhance the security level of the Android OS that many afflicted by malicious apps and malware.
